Seasonal Tips and tricks
MANY PEOPLE ASSUME THAT HEARTWORM PREVENTION AND FLEA AND TICK PREVENTION SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON A SEASONAL BASIS BUT OUR DOCTORS RECOMMEND USING BOTH PRODUCTS ALL YEAR LONG.
FALL
Corn on the Cob: Dogs cannot digest corn cobs, please make sure they are disposed of appropriately.
Hunting Season: Please keep a close eye on your dogs as traffic in the woods increases during the fall.
WINTER
Holiday Foods: Most holiday foods are too rich for our furry friends - visit our office for new options.
Decorations: As many of our animals also like to get into the spirit during the holidays, we encourage you to keep a close eye on loose hooks, glass ornaments, and ribbons.
SPRING
Loud Celebrations: Please be cautious around crowds and loud celebrations such, as fireworks. These situations can be very stressful for animals and cause behaviors issues.
Ticks: Even if your animals are on flea and tick prevention, it is recommended to check them if they have been walking in a wooded area so they are not bringing hitch hikers into your home.
SUMMER
Ice cubes: These are a fun and healthy treat on hot days.
Plastic Kiddie Pools: If your dog likes to play in the water, this is a cheap and easy way to help keep them cool.
Asphalt Temperatures: If it's too hot for your bare feet it's too hot for theirs! Paws can burn!
Walks/Parks: Make sure not to push your animals too far on hot days and to always have an extra water bottle for them.
